The Great Smoky Mountains National Park reveals breathtaking natural and cultural diversity. The Cherokee Indians described the mountains as "blue, like smoke". This scene was viewed from Gatlinburg, Tennessee on July 7, 2002.

A couple in a quiet spot on an uncluttered Beach, on Hypoluxo Island, that stretches for miles. The serenity of the gentle waves washing over the sand makes one feel a connection with nature. Photographed on October 5, 2002.

Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge has salt marsh, mud flats, Palm hammocks and Pine flatlands that create habitat diversity. Here I captured a misty morning just before sunrise on September 8, 2005. This marshy island appears out of the mist, as if by magic, and creates an appreciation of nature.

Knollwood Groves was the oldest working orange grove in Palm Beach County, Florida. Nature walks and a narrated tram ride through the Grove, flowering jungle hammock and live alligator exhibit, gave the visit a visitor a feeling of "Old Florida". Sadly, the property was sold to Real Estate developers in 2005.

This historic cabin and nature Center, alongside a tree-lined Creek was photographed in March, 2004. This was located at The Great Outdoors Golf and Nature Resort.

The pier at Lake Worth Inlet, Florida is a great spot to people, boat and bird watch, seen here on January 23, 2003. The Inlet provides boating access from the Intracoastal Waterway to the Ocean.

For nature lovers, one can experience a fascinating and diverse ecosystem at Wakodahatchee Wetlands in western Delray Beach, Florida. An elevated pine boardwalk covers a half mile loop through marshes and low hammocks, and a visitor can enjoy abundant wildlife, birds and native vegetation.
